Default Christians and Christianity

I know that most professing christians do not read the book they claim to preach about.

They just do what their parents tell them when they are young,go along with the program, and just claim christianity while living their own lives without their God,but when trouble comes than they always pray to their God.

They are what we would call hypocrites.

If they did read the bible they would find that the earth is flat,God has an evil spirit and Jesus is 2000 years late.

For the few that do read their bible they try to explain away contradictions and put their own meaning on it because they cannot accept that the bible is a book from a god of the many gods not from THE GOD.

If you look up history you will find that the bible most likely came from the ancient religions.

Christians may say history is inaccurate and God wrote the bible?

Well if God wrote the bible he did not protect his word from errors and contradictions.Sounds like an incompetent God to me.

If God Is, then maybe God is somewhat incompetent, even though it is still amazing that God created teh universe, and us.
We exist, I don't know how incompetent God really Is.

But oh well, The Miracle of Life is easily overlooked

Or maybe He just did it to really piss unbelievers off and give them something to fuss about.

Pissed off? I'm about as pissed at the foolishness in the bible as I am about the old woman who lived in a shoe.

Being pissed off with those who actually believe the bibles foolishness is a very different matter.

Hey! Leave the old woman out of this. You think raising 12 kids is easy when you live in a shoe.

It's much more likely to piss off the faithful, once they finally realise after reading the bible that their faith's foundations are about as solid as a blancmange.

Would you give it up already Mark? We have read the Bible, iv'e seen your supposed contradictions, but I know they aren't contradictions because I see the deeper meaning in them.

Get over it - you aren't gonna deconvert any Christians here by spamming the same 3 rediculous arguments over the entire board. I can easily explain your supposed contradictions, so if I can see no contradiction, and you see one - which one of us right? What would make you right over me?

Hmm, yet oddly enough after billions of people having been reading these supposed contradictions, and learning the true meaning behind them, their faith only gets stronger. Do you think you all are the first ones to notice these apparent contradictions? They have been studied in depth, by professional scholars for centuries - and these scholars definately know more about ancient writing and understanding meaning than you do - yet Christianity still holds strong, still has billions of followers, and gains more every day. Apparently some of us can see deeper into the meaning of writing, instead of only reading whats on the surface.

Why do think the Bible is called the Living word of God? Its the most complex, in depth, thought provoking and meaningful book on the face of the Earth. You could take the knowledge about the Bible of every Christian thats ever walked on the face of the Earth and combine them, and still not understand the entire meaning and complexity of the Bible.

Read the OP, dude. The assertion is that billions of people do NOT read the bible, they simply get caught up in the parental brainwashing process, and that if they ever did read it, they would maybe realise that their faith is illogical mush.

So the bible is so complex that it can never be fully understood. What's the fucking point in it, then? :banghead:

To be a valuable learning tool for your entire life. The things that affect daily living and salvation are simple, and easily written out.
