Some of their "claims" about the statue's goals:

Freedom to receive food stamps, veteran benefits and other federal financial benefits while a criminal or muderer in prison.

Freedom to abandon parents to nursing homes.

And my personal fave:
Freedom to produce and make megabucks off violent and murderous video games, toys, movies and music in order to teach children how to become violent and murderers.

Those freaky french! Hey--wasn't nostradamas french? I guess they CAN predict the future--how else would the designers of Lady Liberty know that she would stand for Doom, Quake, and daycare centers?

As for that Statue of Liberty thing, this is my fave:

"Freedom for women to foolishly seek to be equal with men."

Stupid women. I'd explain it to them, but they just wouldn't understand.

Good greif, check this one out!

Quote:
We the heathens of the united states in order to form a more imperfect union, establish injustice, insure domestic turmoil, provide for the defense of criminals and of heathens who deny God, promote the general illfare, secure the curses of evil liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this anti-God,anti-moral and anti-Christ constitution for the united states of america.
I am now convinced that there is no way that people repsonsible for this are serious. Evil liberty? They've gotta be doing this to make right-wing nut-jobs look bad. There's no way that someone could be stupid enough to not only believe this garbage, but also to be extremely un-diplomatic in trying to sell it. No way, must be an atheist posing as an idiot. Gotta be.

Yes it's serious, yeti...there's not the slightest glimmer of humor, parody or sarcasm on the entire site. Kinda reminds me of a fear-biter dog who parks his rump in a corner, rolls his eyes back until the whites show, and dares anyone to come within six feet of him.

However, I noticed that the site is apparently built and maintained by only one person...Robert T. Lee. The credits say "and son", but I don't see anything indicating the son's contributions. All the posted articles (when they are credited at all) are written by Mr. Lee, and the rest seem to be written by him as evinced by style and content.

This seems to be a one-man show, and I believe it's eliciting far more alarm than is strictly warranted.

But...it's pretty fascinating in a creepy kinda way.

Oh well, I'm kinda relieved that it's serious. I hate to think that someone was being dishonest! This kind of shit does far more harm to itself than good. I can imagine that most "sane" people, even those who sympathize with the religious right, would be horrified and turned-off by this kind of rhetoric. Way to go Robert T! Keep up the good work! You've done more for the cause of atheism than a whole pack of Richard Dawkinses! And remember, the "T" stands for "tool".

Sorry, I know this is turning into an unhealthy obssesion, but I had to share this one:

"One cannot have thoughts of a true GOD without actually thinking of the true God, because there is no true God other than the true God. In other words, one cannot imagine a true God without actually thinking of the true God. There are no imaginations of the true God apart from actually thinking of the true God. The true God is not a God of the imagination."

Whaa....?

It's possible that gibberish quoted by theyeti is actually a very poor articulation of St. Anselm's Ontological Argument. I mean, it wouldn't take much goofing up to make Anselm sound like complete nonsense.
