Well Bill, if you are well-informed, maybe you will know that, currently, there are physicists that discovered the quantized nature of gravity through observations, of course. In the meantime, they are trying to combine gravitons(that they just discovered) and photons together using a new mathematical method. However, I'm not sure what is it as this research had just began only and I have not received any latest breakthrough.
