Thousands of evolution books at amazon?
Did you stupidly just do a search for "evolution" at Amazon? For every book that supports it, theres one to go aganst it, and oh yes by the way, most books written about the subject in the last two decades are indeed critical of it, not full fledging supporters of it.
Downsindrone, why not tell us how you derived that figure? If you were publish a paper or giving a talk at a conference, you would not be taken seriously if you were unwilling to describe how you came up with that figure.

Also, Downsindrone, try studying the professional literature some time. There are numerous books written about that subject, though many of them require some introductory knowledge of what they describe.

I can't believe you guys have been duped by this obvious troll.

Downsindrone? Regurgitating every single fundie argument on the books as if they've never been asked before by hundreds of others all the while pretending that he's not a cult member?

I'm ashamed to be a freethinker today...

I don't know that anyone was duped. I occasionally like to write a response to the hit-and-run troll. If I can plant just one seed of doubt... Voila! We're talking about next year's new crop of atheists.

Post no. 1!

3. Do you find this lifestyle emotionaly sastisfying?

Much more so than when I was a Christian. At 12 I read the Bible, took a step back and looked at religon as a whole, and realized just how stupid I was being. Now I spend hours less time at church and bloody, bloody awful Sunday School. My life is much improved.

This forum seems to be full of real intelligent people and thats why it surprises me to see such skeptisism in God.
Or the reason you see so much skeptiscism is because we're all 'real intelligent people'.

You presume a level of integrity that is almost certainly absent.

Like I said in a thread in the rants section - responding to trolls and hearing other similar responses to trolls is one way we support each other. It's another aspect of this forum - reasuring those in our community that you are not alone.

Pass a law rotating the state-sponsored religion each year between the major religions of the world, and throw in secular views (pantheism, agnosticism, and atheism). All schools would have to teach and practice only that religion that year. That way it's fair. The christian, jewish, muslim, atheist, buddhist, populations can all feel what it's like when they are forced to pray, or say pledges, to other gods.

I'm sure the separation of church and state issue would be picked up by more organizations than just the ACLU. You see, there is no problem with god in schools, as long as you think it's yours. When christians are forced to take and oath to allah, or pray to Mecca, the christian organizations would blow a gasket and call for the re-instatement of seperation of church and state.</strong>
That was brilliant! With your permission, I'm going to use that the next time some fundie goes off on SOCAS=SATAN.

Heh.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

I`m the one who originally posted this hideous picture. It`s a scan of a postcard that was bulk mailed to everyone in Rehoboth,Swansea and Somerset MA as an advertisment for their performance (witnessing and testifying) at the CHRISTIAN LIFE FELLOWSHIP cult headquarters in Rehoboth MA.
This was not at YOUR school or any other school where the law demands that they tone down the Jesus bullshit.

I don't write for trolls. My responses to trolls are aimed at lurkers. Note also that FreeToThink found something useful in ImGod's response. I hope that at least a few of the things I say here help others find a new idea or new perspective about a point. I know I've found a lot of good ideas and perspectives in how others respond to trolls.

Also, on a rare occasion, trolls are serious. Yes, every single one of the fundy arguments above have been answered ad nauseum, but those answers are rarely ever seen by most fundies. That's why fundies keep bringing them up. I recall a poster on Farrell Till's Errancy list (though I don't recall his name; I haven't been on that list for a while) who came on the list full of arrogant confidence that he would show those skeptics a thing or two, but he quickly found many arguments and much evidence that he had never seen before (though we had all seen it many times), and quickly changed sides.

It can happen.

Well put Hobbs.

You have saved me valuable ‘response to thread’ time.

Koy: I go to the firing range quarterly and participate in an annual night shoot to hone my targeting skills. I know the paper targets are not real threats, however, when I clear leather I am able to focus on the singularity of purpose. The more I do this, the better I get. My survival and the survival of others may depend on this skill. End of analogy

Anunnaki: That was quite a phallic display! What’s the deal with all the swords anyway?! I guess they were considered powerful a few hundred years ago...unless there is some other underlying message I am missing. I was never much interested in Freud, though. LOL.

Hey Michael (turtonm): Thanks for the ‘high five’ welcome. I can assure you I am here for the duration. I will make it a point to visit the kiosk and other elements of this site on a regular basis. Thanks again.

Perseverate et pugna
