Try these books. They are taught to avoid literature that's critical of their group, but Hassan, the writer, was an ex Moonie, and as such doesn't mention Jehovah's Witnesses specifically.Like Damaged said,it's far easier to criticize another group, than one's own.

I would like some literature on critical thinking to pass along to these people. After all, if i am going to read their's, they will have to read mine also.
This group has some nice and inexpensive anti-tracts

The JW's came a'knockin on the door again today. It was Theresa and some dude about my age. No Julie. Although we didnt talk (I had company over), Theresa did leave a little JW book called 'Creation: IS there really a god' or something like that. Theresa will be back sometime during the week. She will probably have the apologetic dude back with her, although I think Im going to ask him not to be a part of the discussion. Only Theresa and Julie are invited, and my wife if she happens to be there.

Now, I don't know if any of you have had a chance to read to read this creation book. All I can say is WOW, these people sure know how to string together words and facts and quotes and make it seem as if god should never be a question. It's as if they present the facts or a twisted version of facts then spin what we know through science as if religion has known these things all along.
One point the book made that I spotted early on was a section that was discussing the fallibility of science. What they basically attempted to do was to spin the flat earth theory and the earth as the center of the universe as things that science made up and believed. Never did it mention that the bible says these things. Although I can see through much of the BS, some of the science I havent seen before. I'll post some samples when I get home. Some questions will be posted in the science forum, some here.

Default Amazing

It is incredible that it lasted that long. In my case, all I say is that I am an atheist, and they're gone before you could say superflagelasti...superflagog...no it's superfag (you get the point.)

anyway, i thought the conversation was a script from a bad porno film.

Come on, people. You really believe that took place. Julie and Theresa...wow... I am impressed, I never had a threesome before...unless, of course, you consider a life-size doll--threesome. :notworthy

What lasted how long? The conversation? Why is that incredible? I was not rude and neither was she. I was non threatning to them so why should my atheism frighten them away?

Pointless.

I think you need to get laid, but, like your statement, it has nothing to do with the thread at hand.

Wether or not you believe it it happened is irrelevant. I assure others here that it did and i have no reason to lie about it. Why would I?

Default It sounds so true, it can't be true

Pointless? Irrelevant?

OK! What is the point of this thread? What is the relevance of this thread? I wonder.

So I started reading the replies:

M. said:
"Good job!
Did you ever figure out just which brainwashed group they belong to?"

While, m_D said:
"Great rebuttals, PG!"

And one of our moderator added: "Good job."

And so the picture becomes clearer with every reply. I am to stand in line and sing praises to PG.

Heil Ceaser PG. Sieg Heil! For his valiant defense of Atheism against the forces of Julie and Therese, 16 and 35 respectively, sieg heil.

Sorry, I don't kiss ass. And I don't hate theist that much that I would easily believe every word against them.

And, btw, I'm taking back my comment on "bad porno movie". Bad porno movie has more points than this self-centered, ego-boosting thread.

You're asking us your motive?

Why would you? Are you saying that you're so pure and good that you can't invent a fib?

You're starting to sound like your imaginary friends: Julie and Therese.

You assure?

Are you sane? We don't even know you. In fact, we are all strangers here, and you want us to be assured by your words. Do you take us all for fools?

Your accusations are bizarre and unfounded, Rousseau. If you don't want to participate in this thread because you think it's too kiss-ass for your high standards then feel free to avoid it.

Thank you,

Feel free to avoid the theist, if you don't like their way of thinking. Do you think that's reasonable, Mr. Moderator?

I challenge you, Mr. Moderator, since you have found the liberty to find my accusation unfounded, to state and enlighten me as to the point of this thread.

Tell me sir that this is not a thread to congratulate PG for his job well done.

A job that all of you assume to have happened! Suckers!
