Naturally theism can't be taught as science, but I've never thought that evolution was mutually exclusive with it. Even when I was a Christian.

I found <a href="http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional/part2c.html#conc" target="_blank">this site from talkorigins</a> by Kathleen Hunt to be very useful when talking about merging creationism with evolution. Some merges are valid according to the evidence, others are not. Happy reading!
