John 3-16(KJV):

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not persish, but have everlasting life.

Arguably the most beloved bible quote of fundies everywhere.

That pisses me off too... but for a different reason than what you state. The reason I don't rape and murder has nothing to do with the fact that I'll likely be punished severely if caught... it's because I still have a sense of morals and ethics despite my lack of belief in any sky monsters telling me what's right and wrong. To suggest that lacking belief in deities shows a lack of morals is claiming that millions of Buddhists, Taoists, etc. have no morals. Considering the highly moral code in many Asian cultures, this is, of course, utterly ludicrous.

Counter John 3:16 with Genesis 3:16 . Sinner for a lifetime, or wifebeater for eternity ? I've taken my pick.

Christian : When you get on an airplane, whom do you put your faith in?
Me : The pilot.
Christian : And whom does the pilot put his faith in?
Me : The laws of aerodynamics.

I never really cared if I knew because I never considered it to be all that relevant.

The one I hate the most has already been referenced by Secular Pinoy:
Quote:
Actual quote from a fundy
"Before I accepted Christ, I was an atheist too! I was promiscuous, I cheated, I took drugs, I got drunk, I didn't care if I was hurting my friends, I didn't care if I was hurting myself. Now that I have God in my life, I'm married, I have a great job and two beautiful children."
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh. :banghead:

But nothing beats the awesome:"I'll pray for you"

Somehow that line always ticks me off. I can't quite put my finger on it , but it just smells like incredibly arrogance.

I know what you mean. They might as well say "Oh, your mind appears to be broken. I'll ask God to fix it for you so you can think straight again."

The worst bit is that they never even notice when they give offence with that line.

And I and my coven will perform a Crowley-esque sex-magic ritual to rid you of your delusions. Can I borrow your underwear?
