MadMorgan,

Let's not forget the girls. They might benefit from a first experience with 20 somethings.

1. In Canada, alchohol can be drunk in the home. No reason to change this system.
2. I'm going to wait until I personally know more before passing judgement on this.
3. Never.
4. I'm assuming you mean currently illegal drugs.
They should stay illegal-no need to change this.
5. Same as #2.
6. Age should not be a criterion in deciding who can vote. We need better methods for preventing people from being coerced in a particular direction. Also, "children" pay taxes and should vote.
7. As long as they are capable and determined to be able, according to driver's tests, anyone should be able to drive.

That being said, driver's tests should be more stringent.

All the question except the one for voting are irrelevant. Parents should be free to decide what is good or bad for their children, not the state.

And I agree, the voting age should be lowered, not that it will matter much anyway, people are already pretty apathetic about today world political systems. But that is off topic.

If 8 year old kids are so inclined, do you really think a law will stop them?

We should leave more up to parental responsibility. It should be up to the parent (and, to some extent, teachers) to discourage their children from drug taking. If their parents can't do that, what makes you think the law can?
The law won't stop 8 year olds from doing it, but it does allow the state to step in when these things happen anyway. Crackheads have kids too.
