Fundies buy out porn shop.

More detailed story here.

Why do fundies like these think that spending all of this dough to impose their own morality on everybody else is more important than spending that money to feed the homeless or something like that?

Although I like the fact that the guy holding the lease is putting a "Christians Welcome" sign in his window to commemorate the building's new owner.

No problem! There's $245,000 less now in their treasury to promote whatever it is that they promote. I just hope that they don't try to get some sort of "faith-based" refund on it, lest tax paying citizens become the unwitting owners of now-useless porn shops.

As the town of Milford, Connecticut is now short one porn shop, there is an unfulfilled niche in the marketplace. A savvy entrepreneur could start another one, then sell it to the Kingdom Life Christian Church for more than it is worth, ad nauseum. As long as it's not being done with tax money there doesn't seem to be a C-S separation issue here.

Well, they say "Love the sinner, and hate the sin.", I just wish someone loved me and hated my sins enough to provide a profit on that magnitude.

And once you've made enough money doing that, you could buy a church and turn it into a porn shop.

Or take a vacation to a tropical island.

Actually, In this case the guy running the store is leasing and the fundies bought the building from the previous landlord. The proprietor of the shop sees none of that 245K. Now as the new landlord, I guess the fundies can kick the porn shop out.

What's the problem here?

Sounds like a great place to open a porn shop. If yopu dont have decent business then you still have a buyer for the whole shebang.
