Thats a rather odd reaction coming from an evangelical Christian such as yourself.
With respect, Fenton, I am not an evangelical Christian and never have been. In fact, I don't think you actually know what I believe and I think you'd be hard pressed to tell me if I asked.

Don't you put your hands in the air while listening to your favorite inspirational Christian albums?
No.

Firstly, I don't have any "favourite inspirational Christian albums." Secondly, I require a considerable amount of persuasion before I'll put my hands in the air for anything more significant than a volleyball.

When I want to hear sacred music, I listen to composers like Allegri, Charpentier, Handel, Bach, Mozart and von Bingen. I am not interested in Christian capitalism - regardless of what form it takes - and I am definitely not interested in the kind of facile emovitism that passes for "music" in the popular culture of mainstream Christianity.

Hmm. I guess it was a combination of your name and the arguments I've seen you use in BC&A that led me to think you were an evangelical.

I couldn't be less interested.

But seriously,I didn't mean to offend you by including you in a Christian group that you find distasteful. There are so many better ways to offend!

Fair enough. I'm a Christian, but not mainstream - and no, not something wacky like the JWs or Mormons.

Suits me fine.

No worries, m8.

Too right! Let's save them for the moments that really count, eh?

Oh, and FWIW, my name is simply the Greek word for "good news" (evangelion.)

It's not intended to imply anything more than the fact that I am a Christian.

Hmm... Not all of us would see that revelation as good news...

I just figured you were an Anime fan.

Hahaha...I always thought your name was intended to imply you were a fan of the anime Evangelion Genesis. Guess I was wrong.

Another vindication for my moniker.

Interestly enough, I feel no anger - there is just a confident and pitying smirk written across my face.

I'm from Ohio...
One of my ex-girlfriends actually went to ALIVE, but, thankfully, she de-converted shortly thereafter (probably because of the music and the 'teen spirit'). I don't blame her.
