You're right luvluv. These people must have just picked up that sex is dirty from life. It's not possible that it came from the hypocrisy factories known as christian churches. Sure there are excellent people involved in therapy and responsible sex education within the christian faith. But there are far more Jerry Falwells, Pat Robertsons, and Fred Phelps who are on sexual witchhunts. Fornication is evil. I think there is even scripture to back me up on that.:banghead:

20 percent of the ten commandments are about sex for christ's sake. Something about coveting and adultery I think.

All of which is contrary to our human nature. God is the creator right? He must be the author of our natural needs and desires. So god made us horny buggers, and then told us to keep our hands out of ours and other's britches. I really do wish he would make up his mind.

Sex is natural, we are hardwired to be interested in sex, porn fits nicely into that niche.

You say that porn is bad for the youngins involved in it's production.

Well then I suggest you start a christ based porn empire and share the profits equally with your talent, see that they all take night classes and further their education, give them full medical, and retirement plans, and make medical safety and disease prevention the upmost priority. Then there is no problem. You could even all pray together before the giant anal gang bang for jesus scene, and everyone would be happy.

Umm, did I go to far there?

I would consider it unethical to pay for the product because money will be going to the people who exploited her.

If I found a picture of her randomly posted on the web (with no commercial tie-ins) then all bets are off.

If I had some control of the content of a website with her on it, then I would remove it at her request.

I love hearing people talk about how great long term monogamous sex can be. How it is the greatest sex of all. What a load of shit.

I've been married twice, and in a multi-year relationship with a third woman. I've had sex with the same woman for years at a time and it can be wonderful. I've had mind blowing, toe curling sex with each of them. I've also had threesomes that equal if not surpass monogamous sex. I mean wow, wow, woooo hooo, wow.

In monogamous sex, the "dirtier" it gets the better it gets. Talking dirty, using fingers in unexpected places, biting, scratching, changing rhythms and intensities of penetration. It is only logical that this extends to multi person sex as well.

Having sex while watching porn can add a level of excitement as well. Particularly for men who are easily visually stimulated. This is taken to a new level when you are watching others in the same room having sex at the same time as you, or with you.

The joys of monogamous sex are true. But the idea that they are the be all end all of pleasure is not only a myth, it's an out and out lie.

I strongly suspect that luvluv's "exploitation" argument is really just a rationalization of why he thinks porn is wrong and not a reason why he thinks it's wrong. I will test it by asking him this:

Luvluv, if my wife and I decide to make an amateur porn film and distribute it on the internet, would it still be wrong?

Allrighty then.

Well, luvluv, what can I say? For all the noise you've made about this being about " porn, not about sex ", it seems clear to me that ultimately it IS about sex, and your beliefs on when it is "right" and when it is "wrong".

Strip away all of the rhetoric about coercion and exploitation and the fact of the matter is, you believe that sex-for-its-own-sake is wrong. The reasons that you have given for why you believe this seem weak to me - I mean c'mon, you make a lot of unsubstantiated assertions like this

Further, I do not think that casual sex has anything approaching a good success rate for producing lasting happiness. It can lead to awkward, embarassing situations that most of us end up wishing we had never gotten ourselves into. The prolonged practice can set up sexual habits and appetites (particularly in men) which can never possibly be satisfied within the confines of a committed relationship. Generally speaking, it does not end up in the neat and mutually productive fashion in the manner in which you have laid it out. If you have casual sex long enough, with enough people, you are going to create some problems
...when you admittedly have little personal experience in these matters, and expect us to think it makes some kind of sense.

It really all comes down to "God says so" for you, doesn't it?

*sigh*.

Since this thread seems to be dying out, I want to say this:

Christ-on-a-stick, thank-you for your honest and well written contributions. Despite the fact that I personally abstain from purchasing porn for fear of contributing to exploitation, I have no problem with what you are currently doing. More power to you and your fellow performers.

If I had a daughter, I would much rather her do what you are doing than become a minister or an apologist.

Talk about faint praise.

Thumbs up

Hi SA -

Thanks for your kind words. I actually find your personal position to be quite well-reasoned and ethically consistent.

LOL... I never thought of that but I'd have to say the same!

Best,

What I'd like to know is this:

Why is it that one primetime special documenting the trauma of a few (?) women involved in porn invalidate pornography as a viable entertainment medium, while the hundreds of proven, documented cases of pedophilia by priests - just recently, mind you - not invalidate the church as a positive moral agent in raising your children?

Great point! I'd love to hear an apologist argue with that one.
