Jesus is not late on His promises - He never intended to return in the 1st Century to judge the earth, you are just too stubborn to realize it and have to bring up the same drawn out argument, over and over and over.
They bring out the same arguments because they are waiting for a response from you. At least they have an argument.

Magus, if you didn't contradict yourself in your own posts, you might actually get somewhere with other people on these boards.

First of all, Mark doesn't bring out that argument because he is waiting for a response; I have answered that argument like 5 times in different threads. Mark keeps saying that because he has nothing better to argue about, so he says stupid one liners with no support other than, its a contradiction because he says so. The verse about "this generation shall not pass" is talking about the Generation that sees the end times, which Jesus just described. If you don't accept that explanation, thats your problem, but drop the argument because im sick of repeating myself. You will never accept my answer, so there is no point in bringing it up every post. I gave you my answer, if you don't like it fine, but move on.

Second, how did I contradict myself?

You are on record as having said "The bible is meant to be taken literally, except when it clearly states that something is meant to be taken as a metaphor, like Jesus and his parables." Or words to that effect.

You then went on to say in another thread about the apple, A&E, and "Dying on the same day." You said that god did not lie. The only way to believe this is to not take the verse literally. And there is nothing in the text telling the reader to do this.

I can almost guarantee you, there will NOT be sex in Heaven. There is no need for it since the pleasures of the flesh will be gone.
We're forbidden from almost all forms of sex in this life and we're not allowed to get laid in the next.

Damn, you god sucks, Magus.

Ok, well I'm not a biologist, but AFAIK, the purpose of having different sexes is to reproduce and pass on genes. The whole feeling good part of it is only secondary. Now without other gods for YHWH to reproduce with, having a cock-n-balls is kinda pointless. Along with the fact that YHWH is supposed to be all powerful and such, so he could be a she tomorrow just for the hell of it, and also experience any feeling he wanted by simply wanting too, but then again feelings are simply nerve impulses, and YHWH doesn't have nerves, so, well, but the all-powerful thing, so he could have nerve impulses to get the feeling for whatever reason...but the all-powerful, etc. thing just fucks it all up. And the angels, once again, would need no sex, at least the bible doesn't teach that they reproduce, except for that thing in genesis, but then that was forbidden right? So now there are just angel orgies? Gah, whatever...

Actually, the first thing they did after Eden was have sex. . . .

Remember, "be fruitful and multiply. . . ."

If you eat and drink, do you also face the end result(s) of eating and drinking?

If not, where does the undigested food go? Does the excreta just vanish?

Where does the food come from? Is it grown in heaven, or does one simply have the ability to say, "Abracadabra, a cheese lasagna with mushrooms on the side" and it appears?

If hugging is permitted, is closed-mouth kissing allowed as well?

Not that I expect Magus to be able to answer any of this, but I had fun asking.

NEATO !!!!!!! I remember 25 as being a very good year.

<grin> I'm very happy for you. I, OTOH, am 25 now, and it looks like I'm going to have to spend eternity in a wheelchair according to your theory. Now if you'd said 23, I could've gone with that. That was a good year

No shit. Although in my view it cuts one way, and the other way is simply the predictable response: "Blow me."
