does anyone know why maggots only eat dead flesh? it seems they'd have a pretty easy meal to go for living tissue too.
.... just curious....

My guess is that it has something to do with their limited ability to digest 'food'. Probably the maggots cannot break up the chemichals in living flesh and therefor wait for it to decompose naturaly. It's more energy efficient...
