Hello MadMax,

Exactly how would you go about verifying the existence of a supernatural entity?

Fortunately this is not a problem that I am faced with. Thus I leave it up to those who claim that such beings do in fact exist to verify their claims.

Perhaps we can learn from your experience of how you verified the existence of Satan.

I looked at your home page, which claimed that you cannot say that God is useful, as you are human and humans cannot judge that. Why then do you claim that God has given you blessings?

You also claim in your article about evolution 'Richard Dawkins and Stephen Jay Gould have never witnessed the origin of life or intelligence.' Are you saying that you were an extremely intelligent sperm? Or do you think people have seen intelligence develop from things with no intelligence?

You also claim 'Because experiments occurring today cannot determine what events occurred in the past.' Are you saying that we cannot examine a wet piece of ground and say that it rained five minutes ago? Or we cannot look at somebody with an axe in his head and say that he died sometime in the past as a result of having an axe in his head? Surely we can do experiments today to determine what events occurred in the past.

Is all your reasoning so bad?

An interesting article on miracles.

Do you deny the eyewitness accounts of miracles to be found in Tacitus and Suetonius, based on the eyewitness testimony of the hard headed soldier, the Emperor Vespasian?

<a href="http://www.bowness.demon.co.uk/mirc1.htm" target="_blank">http://www.bowness.demon.co.uk/mirc1.htm</a> demolishes Christian claims of miracles. Not that I expect David Mathews to believe photographic evidence of plagiarism.

Actually, there is a curious claim by David Mathews in his article. He writes 'Peter was not a liar', and by doing so claims that the Bible was mistaken in saying that Peter told lies (Matthew 26:69-74). According to Mathews own Bible, Peter *was* a liar.

King Arthur is , of course, the person who cited 1 Kings 11:17 'But Hadad, still only a boy, fled to Egypt with some Edomite officials who had served his father.' as proof that when the Bible is talking about boys, it is actually talking about grown men of 20.

Or in the NASB 'that Hadad fled to Egypt, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, while Hadad was a young boy.'

Or in the NKJV 'that Hadad fled to go to Egypt, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him. Hadad was still a little child.'

or in Young's Literal Translation 'and Hadad fleeth, he and certain Edomites, of the servants of his father, with him, to go in to Egypt, and Hadad [is] a little youth'

etc etc

But King Arthur insisted that this passage *proved* that the words translated 'little youth', 'young boy', 'little child' were best translated as a man of about 20.

Hello MadMax,

You do know that people who believe in God are not obligated to provide scientific proof of that belief?

Sincerely,

David Mathews

'Science' is the process of providing publically available, checkable evidence. The most basic method available to scientists is looking, unless you believe scientists are not allowed to use their eyes.

So 'no scientific proof' means that no matter how hard you look, you will never find any evidence of God.

'Humility is not a common attribute of humans, and it is especially absent among atheists'

Well, it is nice to know what David Mathews thinks of atheists.
