Post Miami Christian Coalition head arrested: falsifying petition to overturn gay-rights

Quote:
The head of the Miami-Dade County Christian Coalition and another man were arrested Friday on charges they falsely certified a petition seeking a referendum that would repeal Miami-Dade County's gay rights ordinance.
Quote:
His attorney, Rosa Armesto, said the arrests were part of an anti-Christian conspiracy. "Christians are being persecuted in this town by the homosexual mafia who contribute money to the campaign coffers of officials,"...
<a href="http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?Date=20020816&Category=APN&ArtNo=208160514 &Ref=AR&SectionCat=NEWS02" target="_blank">Two arrested for role in faking anti-gay rights petition</a>

(I decided that C/S Separation was the best place for this article as this was an overtly religious attempt to influence governmental policy. I sent the story to the Wire as well.)

Gives the term "getting whacked" a whole new meaning.

The C-S Forum is happy to provide a home for all reports on activities of the Christian Coalition and other opponents of church-state separation.

ROFL, "thou shalt not lie" is one of the ten commandments, which are supposed to still be valid, and the anti-gay portion of the bible is in the OT which the Jeebster supposedly already transcended along with animal sacrifice, etc.

These charactoires also seem to have forgotten the "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" tale. <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />

"Let HIM that is w/o sin cast the first stone", if you don't mind,,, When you want to make a point, quoting correctly/GRAMMATICALLY does make a difference to your credibility... cf "let ME call you sweetheart."

And wouldn't be awesome to meet a Christian leader that takes this commandment seriously?

No it is not.

Though the ninth commandment is probably what you are thinking of, it is not exactly the same.

falsely certifying a petition = bearing false witness (or close enough)
