The original author of this list could take two or three of the best examples and perform a detailed exposition. Even more persuasive would be to follow this with a critique--a critical examination of the exposition which considers the alternative explanations and demonstrates them to be unlikely.
I'm quiet sure he could. Oolon is more than capable of detailed discussions on single subjects. But, you see, the problem then usually is that the creationist comes back with a comment along the lines of "Oh, well, REALLY, that's just one or two items you're getting so bent out of shape about - surely there'd have to be a whole lot of them before you could draw any real conclusions." So he produces a whole lot of examples and gets accused of being shallow. Can't win for losing, can you?

Great post, BTW, Kevin. Like Zetek said, if TO doesn't already have something like this, why don't you and Oolon submit it? Or how about the new TalkDesign board, would that be more appropriate?

Obviously there is one more glaring example for suboptimal design: Vanderzyden's brain
Now why would a benevolent God create sth like that?

You make a good point. Arrgh. I'm torn between wanting vanderzyden to actually address something substantial in this forum and never wanting to hear from him again. Perhaps I should just opt out in exasperation like so many others have done.

As for the not wanting to see him again, keep in mind that these forums exist because we're arguing

if all the people like him left, to be replaced by intelligent, perceptive but-slightly-undereducated people, the debates wouldn't last long enough.

Do it for the lurkers

Besides. I enjoy reading his responses... they amuse me.

Giving eyes to creatures whose species CANNOT SEE AT ALL is poor design. There is NO USE for it, so te question is, "Why Bother?" It's a waste of materials--any designer worth a damn doesn't waste materials if he can avoid it. And guess what? An omnipotent deity can certainly avoid it.
