There are false religions but that would just mean that they do not lead us to the correct end. Yes they can be wrong and harmful.
Since you were born into your religion --
how do you know YOURS is not the false one???

All major mythologies are transparent and can be compared with each other.
Is yours NOT comparable with other religions? (I say this without knowing exactly what you believe of course. Smile)

The souls is not separate from the body but the ego is. The soul is in charge of the body and if you call that separate that would be right.
While your're making up stuff, why not assume the ego IS a part of the soul?

Lucretius was wrong about the immortality of the soul because our intuition is the memory of our soul and Plato's theory of recollection is also based on this same memory.
Then why do young children/infants have no intution -- except for things they already have some EXPERIENCE IN? [/QUOTE]

Amos continued:
Our soul is incarnate and contains "the thousand year reign" to make our soul eternal and our body temporal.

Keith: Once again, it looks like English, but it's not... There is no corresondence between the word 'soul' and any 'thing'.

Well I am in charge of two companies and both are 100% owned by my wife. Tax implications separate these from my company and combined they are extension of our private holdings.

True, because the souls is eternal. As we have seen, when you remove the soul from the dog it's doginess is gone and if you do the same to a lion and a lamb the two could live happy together.

In defense of the poor dog I would have like to see this test done to the scientists -- after he pays back his student loans-- because his life was not an "examined life."

Sojourner,

We have saints in heaven and that is the evidence of a true mystery religion.

Catholicism can be compared with all mystery religions and it is therefore that it can take all of the others under its wings, including voodoo.

Children's intuit knowledge is why they are hard wired towards learning. This begins already in the second semester of pregancy when mental activity can be measured.

Amos,

As long as you are not a fundi (I see you putting religions like catholicism, the mystery religions, and voodoo on the same plane), I really do not care to quibble with you much -- Why? Because if it makes you happy, believe in fairies and leprechans while you are at it. Just not ALIENS!!! (Just kidding.)

Still, Amos, if you ever choose the rational path, please note:

* There is no evidence saints or anything else are in heaven; nor that heaven physically (or spiritually) exists either.

* The newborn hardwiring for learning comes from our physical brain. (The analogy is the computer's CPU is necessary for processing). Kant's theory that some knowledge is a priori has been demonstrated to be false.

BTW, since animals would also be "hard wired for learning" at birth like humans, does that mean they go to heaven, by your rules?? The Egyptians, in later periods, mummified their pets so they could also enter the afterlife. I hope your visions of an afterlife are as pleasant as theirs...

(with apologies to Star Trek)

Yours,

Sojourner
