Thanks all, for the comments!

I've changed my mind about not pursuing this.
This Sunday I'm going to attend the local atheists meeting, bring up my letter, etc. and - stealing an idea from Amazon in another thread - start writing a response to Mr. Flake and send it to the local papers.

Last I checked they didn't have a clause in the CONSTITUTION stating that the US government will endorse no specific diet. Or no specific meat by-product. When someone finds something in our supreme legal document about that, then I'll give credit to the ridiculous argument made by a US CONGRESSMAN. Jeez.

Are any of you in Russ Feingold's district? Of all those who participated in the ridiculous hoopla that occurred following the pledge, I'm most disappointed with him. I'd like to read his response.

And while on the subject, I think public schools should be required to offer a vegetarian meal, if only for health reasons.
