Sorry you must have missed where I said "Prayer beads were common in classical days from the Eastern Mediterranean to Nepal." I can think of nothing in Christianity that is original to it. Certainly not prayer beads. Certainly not the "rosary" custom. Although it is interesting to speculate that the people who were making their livings off of religion should have used the same device to count their prayers and their cash.
We do know for a fact that prayer counting beads pre-date coined money by a goodly amount.
