I'm pretty sure that this is true. The reasoning I think is that the acceptance requires a convict to actually admit that they are guilty of a crime, but are being forgiven. Some refuse because they refuse to admit guilt.

I don't think Magus' prison analogy quite works.

For the prison analogy to be the same as Jesus' situation, part of the wardon's "free gift" would include the prisoner worshipfully serving the wardon for the rest of his life. Does this sound like a good situation?

For Jesus to be more like the wardon, he'd have to ask each of us "do you want me to forgive your "sins" "?, and a simple "yes" or "no" would do, without any sort of life time of servitude attached to it. That way he really would have died for every man, and not just for those who want to kiss his @ss all the time.

Maybe God created Man because he saw that monkeys, apes, and orangutans were more driven by survival instinct and awareness of surroundings instead of wishful thinking, idol worship, and genuflection borne of obseqiousness.
