No, the two issues are, as far as I am aware, unrelated. Some people can experience nausea. Others who are already epileptic can have seizures triggered by things like flashing lights in the game.

At university, many moons ago, I did my final year project at a school for special needs children. One of the teachers told me that once, a piece of educational software that set off all the epileptics in the class because it rewarded correct answers with bright flashing lights.

Which means ... what? I'm having nausea because my mind cannot catch up with fasting moving objects OR my mind seems to see through an object?

No, for some people it's because the mind gets confused by the apparent and real distance to a virtual object.

Some time ago, I went to a place called Cameron Highlands and it was very steep and the road is small and curved every few feet. I felt the same nausea feeling as I had with FPS.

Well, that sounds like movement sickness.

Good ... for a minute there, I was worried.

So seizures occurs by a certain bright flashing light?
Sounds like something useful to study to cure Epileptics for me. Any work had been done by Scientists on this?

Oh yeah ... speaking of which, you're a moderator, so you should be a perfect person to ask. How come there is no Game column in this forum?
And don't tell me it is because Games don't have theology or Atheist concept in it either ... I can list down half a dozen games from various counsels which DO have such concepts.

No, for some people it's because the mind gets confused by the apparent and real distance to a virtual object.

Hmmm ... Understood.
So playing more of this kind of games should get my brain used to seeing virtual objects ... right?

Well, that sounds like movement sickness.

Thought so ... Good.
Should ask my girlfriend not to drag me to the mountains anymore ... unless she want to pamper me at night to compensate it

Nevertheless, how does playing games contribute to improved visual skills? I don't know (hope some can enlighten me) since I had not notice any significant changes with my sight apart from wearing thicker lens.
Its not the eyesight itself that improves but the "visual skills". From the nature article

Game-players react to fast-moving objects more efficiently, explains Bavelier, and can track up to five objects at a time - 30% more than non-players. "They can process more information more quickly over time," she says.

"The brain changes as a result of training," explains neurobiologist Manfred Fahle of the University of Bremen, Germany. The ends of nerve cells may shift shape, helping them to communicate with each other more effectively, he says. Such swift alterations hint that visually impaired stroke patients or people recovering from cataract surgery might benefit from playing similar games.

Oh I see, faster mind reactions. I like Aerial shooting arcade games, thats why I know that is quite true. Nevertheless, playing games can help to determine whether a person is calm and flexible in the times or face of danger. Some games even help to determine a person's sense of directions.

Thats too bad, you should try it. Xenogear has the best rpg story ever( In all the rpg games I played). I simply lose my taste for Rpg games a long time after I completed it because none I see, had its high quality.

Yeah ... I was told the same thing as well. Should try it one of this days ... when I have some time ... or maybe during one of those long holidays like Hari Raya or Chinese New Year (my company always gives 1 week for holiday).

Ever tried Final Fantasy 7 and 10? In Final Fantasy series, those two are the best (till Square Soft come out with FFX-2 and turn the heroin, Yuna into a cabaret dance). :banghead:
