Post Rethinking thinking

Quote:
This Planet X is said to be a Brown Dwarf, that is a dead sun, or one that never became hot enough to be a full blown sun. It is said to be 4 to 5 times larger than planet earth and makes an orbit that brings it near Earth every 3600 years. (Some Scientist has that number as high as 30 million years). Most Scientist (who ever they are) say its last appearance was in 160 BC, which would account for the great flood, the Ice Age, and the extinction of the Dinosaurs. It is said not to be any danger of it hitting the sun or earth because of the magnetic forces of the sun, earth and the Planet X, they will repel each other like two magnets when placed together at the wrong ends. But as it comes nearer over the next year or so, it will drastically effect the earth, in ways of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes as well as many other ways. As it passes between earth and the sun in orbit, it will cause the earth to stop its rotation for a couple of days, causing extreme heat on the side facing the sun and extreme cold on the outer side. But that life will continue on the outer edges of the two extremes. The closer it gets to our sun the faster it will move until it makes it whip or rotation around our sun. There is a list a mile long of the effects this will have on earth, meteors and meteorites will shower earth causing wide scale destruction, many very large which brings Rev. 8:11-12 into view.
This way to the Zoo:<a href="http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?s=1344590b651268b9427b22b61501615e& threadid=24538" target="_blank">Rapture Ready</a>

I've spent a couple of days reading those boards and am stupefied. How can people end up like this? "Ooo, I can't wait for Damascus to be destroyed! I'm so excited!"

What I'm wondering is, how easy is it to get a person into the state some of these people are? It seems to me that they are constantly revving their engines - they're stuck in some sort of feverish fretting mode. And it's not like they're consistent in their beliefs either; anything goes, as long as it's "One of those "hmmm ..." things".

The above probably seems like ranting, but I'm genuinely puzzled; I've never seen anything like those people. So, what exactly is the psychological (or sociological) make-up that makes people act like that? I mean, why?

Sorry about rambling,

Antti

The poster of the above said:

"In fact, once you get into the research you will come to the conclusion it is not a hoax, and there is something to it."

Har de har. Depends on what materials you read, and trust, in your research. Only an ignorant person would believe the "magnetic repulsion" crap, for example.

Ah yes. Roman records are replete with accounts of dinosaurs.

The first record of the Genesis Flood was found on clay tablets in a Babylonian city. These were dated to between 700-900 B.C.E., more than 600 years before this supposed event.

Also, how could the same force melt polar ice to cause a flood AND cause an Ice Age? The former needs more heat, the latter less.

Pseudoscientific bullshit, all of it.
