Achieving this utopia is only part of the battle they are up against; how would they possibly maintain it?

My wife and I were rather prominent vegetarians; she was President of the Vegetarian Society (Colorado branch of NA VSC) and I was the Chief Editor of Vegetarian Living. My vegetarianism stretched back 14 years, with the latter half being strictly vegan. We were counted amongst the most informed and cutting-edge, and spear-headed many anti-meat campaigns.

Based upon our personal experience, and repeated exposure to a wealth of relevant information, we are no longer vegetarians/vegans (and we are SOOOO glad for it).

If you can't keep those like us (among the most prominent, indoctrinated, and educated), how will you maintain the balance?

I'm interested.

Why did you you originally become vegetarians and what precisely made you change your mind?
