Being incomprehensible to one another, we look for explanations as to the other’s belief / lack-of-belief which lie within the parameters set by our own perceptions of reality.
There exists a paradox in reasoning,
Theists apply perception, logic, and abstract thought to define and conceptualize a god. But if we use that same perception, logic, and abstract thought we cannot comprehend a god.

From this thread-

Ask anybody what the physical world is made of, and you are likely to be told 'matter and energy.'

Yet if we have learned anything from engineering, biology and physics, information is just as crucial an ingredient. The robot at the automobile factory is supplied with metal and plastic but can make nothing useful without copious instructions telling it which part to weld to what and so on. A ribosome in a cell is supplied with amino acid building blocks and is powered by energy released by the conversion of ATP to ADP, but it can synthesize no proteins without the information brought to it from the DNA in the cell's nucleus. Likewise, a century of development in physics has taught us that information is a crucial player in physical systems and processes. Indeed, a current trend, initiated by John A. Wheeler of Princeton University, is to regard the physical world as made of information, with energy and matter as incidentals."

-from "Information in the holographic universe", Scientific American, Aug. 2003. (Italics mine.)

As a monist, I think that all seemingly opposite concepts are at root unified.

If the above quote is true, then in some as-yet-mysterious way, the concrete and the abstract are the same. Material and immaterial are poles of a single reality.

Does that solve existence? Information exists, then energy and matter come from it accidently? What then created this information?

No-one knows exactly. Some have theories, and others have silly far fetched idea's.Mind you, the vague theories out their, are little more than far fetched idea's anyway.I guess that this question cannot be answered in our existance

I think this fits. The only reason we know of the immaterial (thoughts, etc) is because we have a mind, which arises from material. Yin/yang.

Where is the information contained in the universe? One way to put it is that there are patterns of matter/energy in space/time. It seems to me that these patterns arise because of the physical laws and the way they interact with each other - the information is in the laws of physics!

I think we have a materialistic handle on the intermediate stuff - the real information is within quantum reality. Since a neuron firing or a chemical coursing doesn't quite explain how a subjective mind could exist, I think the answers to the nature of mind are hidden in quantum reality.

But that's where the universal information is! Full circle, the immaterial is polar to the material.

Is light material or immaterial?

Is space material or immaterial?

Is Time material or immaterial?

Is our thoughts material or immaterial?

Can we manifest our Idea from the immaterial to the material?

Conciousness hasn't been determined to be either material or immaterial, we simply don't know...yet?

If conciousness is both material and immaterial, what does that tell us?
