David, how do you know Helen's purpose for being here? I find it exceptionally presumptuous on your part to think that she's come here to lead us anywhere.

Am I the only one here who thinks that David Mathews' posts to Helen SL (especially the last couple on the first page of this thread) sound like, "What are you wearing?" Didn't visions of Frank Burns and Hot Lips come unbidden to mind?

My take is that David Mathews' faith is faltering and is needs to hear "testimony" from someone who has survived her faith from the infidels freethinking for so long - HelenSL.

What is "testimony" but the reaffirmation of your faith through the encouraging faith of others? ie mutual brainwashing.

I like HelenSL. I remember when she first started posting here. She was, quite frankly, FUBARed. She has come a long way, both in her tolerance, and in her struggle with her own afflictions. I am not ashamed to admit her example was instrumental in helping me break down and get help for my own illness. I have grown to respct her as a valued member of the community.

That being said, I wouldn't take on the lies, half-truths and assorted bullshit that passes as her philosophy for all the whiskey in Ireland.

Just because you like someone doesn't make what they say true, nor that you would live your life like them. Sorry Dave, go fishing somewhere else.

And just how do you know that atheists actaully do, in fact, believe in god? How do you know that there are some here that are desperately searching for god? Where is your evidence for this incredible claim? Seriously David, show me how you came to this conclusion.

You know what David?
I just know that you are actually doubting your faith right now, and that you are desperatly seeking a way out of it. How do I know David? Same as how you know oh so much about the minds of us poor, poor atheists. Tell me david, am I angry with god? Is that why I "choose" to not believe?
Tell me, why is it that when I look deep down into my inner sanctum, that I find no need for your religion or your god?

Helen is here to lead you to Him. If you follow Helen' example you will certainly find God.

Once again you must be using that fantastic ability to know things. That's fantastic David, how you know so much about everything. Why, you must be omniscient! Imagine that...

I somehow don't think Helen is here to save our horribly lost souls. But you think whatever you want David, as I suspect you will.

And if you follow Helen's example, you'll find that less people percieve you as insane.

Does anyone else get the feeling that David is somehow mocking Helen and/or mocking us?

This thread is really starting to bother me.
(maybe its the holy spirit moving through me, eh David?)

I don't see what bearing this has on the Existence of God(s). I'm not sure exactly where to send it, but I'm going to go ahead and say that it's close enough to "Preaching" to belong in RRPEtc. The mods there can correct me if I'm wrong.
