Post Liberation Theology

Can anyone recommend a few good books on Liberation Theology? I'm particularly interested in its schism with Orthodox Catholicism.

Jekyll (who is a religious studies student) thought this book was a good place to start. If you're looking for something different, shoot me an email or a private message and I'll put you two together .

Thanks, Bree. But... from the review it got, it seemed a little on the simplistic side (and I really don't need another book telling me how much the poor suffer). Something more indepth on its Marxist theology and schism as I mentioned earlier is really what I'm looking for.

There are some essays on liberation theology at <a href="http://www.religion-online.org/cgi-bin/relsearchd.dll/listcatitems?cat_id=38" target="_blank">Religion-Online</a>.

Which type of liberation theology had you in mind? There are feminist, queer and third-world types. An author who manages to straddle all of those categories is Marcella Altaus-Reid, who wrote Indecent Theology. For feminist theology try Mary Daly or Elizabeth Fiorenza. For queer theology try Elizabeth Stuart or the guy who wrote Jesus Acted Up. For black theology try James Cone, Allan Boesak or Albert Cleage. For third world go for Gustavo Gutierrez or Leonardo Boff.

Thanks Egoinos. I saw Gutierrez in the link Bree posted. I suppose that'll do.
