ACCCKKKK!

Where the heck is this stupid idea coming from?! Email spam?! Good floating miraculous MOSES!

30second Kneel down is such a ridiculous proposal in multitudes of ways--and is only perpetuated by ignorant cows of believers who don't know their rights and enjoy feeling persecuted because it's boring being the majority!!!!!!

Rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant ad infinitum to the ultimate nth degree!

If I didn't know that most believers enjoy being manipulated into foamy, frothy madness about the public schools, I'd say shame on the promoters.

Give them a boot from me when you see them in the hallways. Pray to be seen you get your reward.

It's no surprise to me to find that you can buy 30 second kneel down paraphenalia, and that there is a speaking engagements calendar on the 30KD website. I'm sure it's not surprising to anyone else either.

I am a Christian and what I don't understand is why every mission must become a campaign--complete with t-shirts and speaking tours. The work of Christ is seen in your hearts, not on your back.

Sorry, I've got to go--I feel the bile rising a little too high.

Isn't the 30 Second Kneeldown what got Bill and Monica in trouble?

He was 50 years old (or close to it)! I think 30 seconds is a bit optimistic!

You want God to "touch" you again and again?

What a joke; "moving into the next millennium while battling the forces of darkness".

On second thought, that might make sense if you understand that their "next millennium" is the same one that the rest of us left a thousand years ago!

I am a Christian and what I don't understand is why every mission must become a campaign--

Maybe it's because Billy Graham and his other 'Fundy' friends had a plan to recruit Kiddy Missionaries. We just thought we had child labor laws.

From the Every School Alliance FAQ:

Quote:
Challenge 2000 is an alliance of students, youth workers, churches and organizations working together to establish a student-led ministry of prayer, evangelism and discipleship to all 56,000 public and private secondary schools in America by yearend 2000. Challenge 2000 serves as the youth component of the Mission America Lighthouse Movement.

Currently there are more than 60 national denominations and organizations who have committed to work together as part of the Challenge 2000 Alliance.

The Alliance collaborates to:
1. Champion the cause of campus ministry through every available means.

*
How can a local Network Adopt Schools for Christ?

1.List every middle, junior high and high school within their reach geographically.

2. Identify every school with an existing student-led club or outreach on campus.

3. Discover all Christian youth organizations and churches targeting each school.

4. Delegate a networking youth worker to serve as spiritual shepherd/coach for each school.

5. Commit to co-existand partner on any campuses with multiple outreach efforts.

6. Prayerfully decide how to partner and establish outreach ministries to un-adopted schools.

7. Partner together for strategic, community-wide training, prayer and evangelism efforts.

*
What's Important To Us?
-Our schools are our mission field.

-Prayer is at the heart of reaching our friends and our schools for Christ.

There are many different ways to reach students on our campuses, but they all have the same goal.

Simply go online to www.everyschool.com and follow the instructions there.

Forgive them wildernesse...for they really know not what they do.

However, let these folks do what they think is necessary in this free country as long as it harms none.

I have now made it a point not to panic when I view this type of behavior regardless of the ideology.

After all, old Tom said it best...

"But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."

-Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782.

PS And don't forget we are talking about CBN here

Wow. That is really ridiculous.

The whole kneeldown thing doesn't bother me, as long as they're not impeding traffic flow or tripping people, and as long as they're praying at their own lockers (one of the student testimonials mentions that a bunch of them were praying at an atheist student's locker, which I'd consider harassment).

But, wow. You take two of the most overwrought, emotionally unstable groups in society--religious fanatics and teenagers--and combine them? What a trainwreck.

Look at these student testimonials:

http://www.30kd.org/student.htm

I think my favorite is the second from last. I can't entirely make out whether that girl is actually having hallucinations, or if it's just a hackneyed attempt at being evocative or something, but either way, she's clearly unstable.
