East has significance in mythology because that is where the sun rises from, which was already mention earlier in the thread. The number 7 tends to be significant because that is the number of moving bodies amongst the 'fixed stars', those being the sun, the moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter.

Well, obviously that was a geocentrist interpretation of the facts. Knowing what we know now, I would say that Apollo inhabits the sun (as well as other cultures' sky gods).

Don't believe me? I can't make you. But Apollo is true, and belief systems that deny Apollo are false. Don't say no one ever told you.

PS: I wonder if this means that Apollo, Yahweh, Ra, et al. take the side of the East Coast rappers in the current feud. Just a thought.

I think Orestes is close.

heres some Buddhs stuff and SEVEN, also Buddhas mother gave Birth to him on his EAST side without any pain. Obviously this all mythology, but what does it mean?

From the Ajapala Banyan tree, the Buddha proceeded to the Mucalinda tree where he spent the sixth week. Here, too, the Buddha sat for seven days enjoying the Bliss of Emancipation. At that time there arose an unexpected great shower. Rain and gloomy weather with cold winds prevailed for seven days.

Thereupon Mucalinda, the serpent-king, came out of his abode, coiling around the body of the Blessed One seven times, remained keeping his large hood over the head of the Blessed One so that the Blessed One may not be touched by cold, heat, gadflies, gnats, wind, sun or reptiles.

At the close of seven days, Mucalinda seeing the clear, cloudless sky, uncoiled himself from around the body of the Blessed One, and leaving his own form, took the guise of a young man, and stood in front of the Blessed One with joined hands.

Thereupon the Buddha uttered this paean of joy :-

Queen Maya, experienced a vision in which she beheld the Buddha come down into her womb as a white elephant. This was interpreted as the birth of a world savior, and when the time came for Maya to give birth, she went to a grove, where the child was born, emerging from her right side without causing her the slightest pain. The child was almost instantly endowed with the power of speech, and every time he took a step there appeared on the ground before him a lotus. Instantaneously was born his wife, Yasodhara Devi, his horse Kantaka, his charioteer Chandaka, Ananda, his chief disciple, and the Bo Tree, under which he received Enlightenment.

Maya, however, died seven days after the Buddha was born, and he, having attained supreme knowledge, ascended to the Trayastrimsa Heaven

In metaphysics, if you read it, it is known that when you look forward, no matter which real direction you stand, you are facing north, This is the way the ancient people talked. If you always face north, then the right side of your brain is EAST.

Their was an article from sweeden where scientists, stimulated the brains of patients suffering various propblems, this area of the brain they stimulated electrically is called the Right angular gyrus.

The people who had this area stimulated, reported having out of body experiences, and so called religious experiences.
Now the word Gyrus, has its root in the word GURU. You can look this up in steadmans medical dictionary.

So you have Buddha being born on his mothers right side (east)
You have God smiting all the tribes of the old testament in the EAST, people saw the lord in the east, The east has twelve gates. Where is all these cities in the bible with eastern gates.

well you have twelve cranial nerves in your brain, there is twelve sighns of the zodiac.

In revelations it says the back side was saled with seven seals, now we know the indian idea of kundalini deals with seven chakras, on the spine, which in meditation a person tries to experience a kundalini, where the Solar plexus energy rises to the brain via the spinal fluid.

All this in the bible East side brain, seven candle sticks, or lamps are the chakras, the steps to the city, which is your brain. The bible says gods temple was built with no tools, The only temple built with no tools, is your brain.

But if heaven and earth are opposite to each other and heaven is round don't you think that earth must be flat? How else could it be that we must "go to the end of the world" to get to heaven and from there on both heaven and earth will be round (when earth is like heaven).

I am more of a critic and would agree that Lewis Carrol's poetry doesn't make sense. You read it, enjoy it and leave it.

The woman of Gen.2, who later is called Mary, is the greater serpent of the Tree of Life which is the right side of the brain. The serpent later called Eve is the female of our conscious mind. Mary was the Virgin and Eve (later called Magdalene) was not a virgin.

The six weeks before the identity shift is made from the Tree of Knowledge to the Tree of Life is what Catholics call Advent. After this comes rebirth followed by a seven day bliss period between New Year and Epiphany. The evidence for the duration of this is made known by the absense of Joseph when the Magi first looked in, and entered upon seeking Mary and the Child only (Mt.2:11; the absense of Joseph is infered here and signifies "no ego identity" because the conscious mind has been vacated). The bad weather equals the upset in the temple required to vacate the conscious mind between Christmas and New Year.

The "swadling clothes"and close proximity of the mule and ox to keep the child from 'worldly influences' (the ox and mule represent the passified Joseph and Magdalene (sic) of ego consciousness).

"Son of man" after epiphany and no longer hu-man (earthly).

Maya must be Mary and the above is just a recount of the major events. The white elephant was the eminent force or the divine will that caused the convergence of the twain mind which was incipient from the right side and not from the left brain (no carnal desire was part of it but persitent like an elephant nonetheless). The wedding in Cana is where Jesus meets his mother who was the head waitress there and the call of the apostels follows to get his new assembly through purgatory.

For us the Mary takes us through the Gospels where Jesus learns to know the depth, width and breadth of his right brain. Then he leaves behind his ego on the cross and ascends to heaven where Mary is recalled as the seat of wisdom. Mary is Assumed because she has no God identity to ascend because she IS the seat of wisdom in the TOL (to wit: she "saw that the Tree of Knowledge was good for gaining beauty, wisdom and food"), and therefore "strikes" at the head of Eve (the lesser serpent of the TOK), who in turn strikes at the heel of Adam-- who is the persona identity of man.

The reason why our Gosples were written is to attract followers in a new religion (and thus so Paul could built his case).

No one is claiming that Heaven is round. You're paying too much attention to the shrieking voices in your head, dear Amos.

Look, this would all be so much easier if you would just admit that the entire basis for your faith was written by confused pre-Cambrian man-children.

But if heaven was as flat as earth there would be no God and we would have nothing to argue about. If you like that better you can just not be part of it.
