Just finished reading the opinion. The majority's analysis is right-between-the-eyes accurate.

Watching the fundies go ballistic is going to be funny as all hell, but there's definitely cause for concern. A decision like this could easily turn into a bottomless pit of political capital for the far right, and that's the last thing we need.

There is a poll on the fox news website that has 85% of the readers saying "under God" should be on there....10% agree with the ruling. These figures are not surprising. I am happy at least 10% voted for it.

Oh, great...Falwell's on Talk Back Live now...the huge bloody blowhard.

I'm loving this.

This is long overdue. I can't wait to go out tonight and hear what everyone thinks.

Just got a confirmation from CNN breaking news mail 'Federal appeals court rules Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional because of words 'under god,' according to the Assosiated Press.

Congratulations to those of you in the US!!!

FOX news just showed the phone number of one of the three judges so that America can call to tell him how they feel about this.

And now here comes Charlie Daniels again on the phone threatening Michael Newdow by saying he`ll know he was wrong after spending one second in hell.

Thumbs up

This is superb. Newdow is a hero, and a patriot.

Listening to all these sanctimonious phony conservatives go ballistic is hilarious. Real conservatives should applaud this decision. The government has no business endorsing superstitious beliefs. You'd think they would appreciate the state backing off from people's private consciences.

Unfortunately Stephen is probably right. The GOP has just been handed a giant talking point on a silver platter.

questionit is absolutely correct. There will be a deluge of angry letters to local papers over this issue. This is a fantastic opportunity for us infidels -- at the grassroots level -- to provide a much-needed counterpoint to the inevitable lies and misrepresentations that will be disseminated. So get those references in order, folks; this will be a fight!

I couldn't get a response when I tried to vote, but let's see some of the rest of you vote in favor of C/S separation.

cheers,
Michael
