Inspired inerrent Buckley ?
I recently posted Lord Buckley’s The Nazz <a href="http://www.columbia.edu/~tdk3/nazz.html" target="_blank">http://www.columbia.edu/~tdk3/nazz.html</a>
Our moderator, Maverick didn’t see the point. Perhaps I should have explained what I was up to. The source of many arguments here is that some of our posters are biblical inerrantists and will create incredibly convoluted scenarios to harmonize conflicting passages at the expense of common sense and the thematic integrity of the passages in question. I wish to consider Lord Buckley’s “gospel” as a candidate for inerrancy. While it is true that Buckley seems to confuse Jude with Peter in the walking on water scene, perhaps there were 2 walking on water incidents. The fact that this Gospel is written in the hipster vernacular of mid 20th century America presents us with many problems in translation to determine the true meanings behind the words. Lord Buckley was without question a truly inspired American word smith whose sing song jive is without question imbued with the holy spirit. I’m sure that some of you nit pickers might not believe that this text is inerrant but I think that Buckley’s harmonization of the Gospels actually is a God inspired correction over the other 4 lesser texts. My question is aimed at the biblical inerrantists out there. If I am mistaken in my belief that this is an inspired text by a truly great American Christian martyr please explain why? And why you think that this 5th Gospel should not be added to the Canon? |
