Default I cannot believe in the existance of a GOD anymore

because there are way too many anomolies ( about 5000 or more ) in the whole book of the bible.

I found those anomolies in a website called skeptics annotated bible.

I just cannot believe in a GOD who supposidly writes with so many anomolies.

I am not promoting this site (some of you may know this site already but if you do not)

http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com

There are way too many anomolies that could convince me that the bible is really the word of a GOD.

I am 100% convinced that man has evolved from monkeys, because GOD if you read the truth about it is definately wierd and does not make sense.Just the ramblings of an ancient people who made up a religion and probably more than one is in the bible where anomolies come from .

Take a look a Donald Morgans biblical errancy list on this site. Its on mark with stretching in parts.
The SAB is great but like the subject works well with a dose of salt

Mark, I think you're headed in the right direction, but a couple of things:
  • Biblical contradictions are not sufficient stand-alone evidence to refute the existence of God. As this very forum is dedicated to those pro- and anti-existence arguments that are generally non-scriptural, I encourage you to read and participate here. Non-existence arguments cover every inch of the philosophical spectrum.
  • Humans almost certainly did not evolve from monkeys. For all you might ever want to know (and more) about evolution, visit our Evolution/Creation forum. Articles and links abound there.

I hope your time here is rewarding and enlightening.

You are aware of how completely rediculous the claims at SAB are right? I can start off right from the beginning of the contradictions section on Genesis and explain or refute their rediculous claims, and I'm not even a theologist, and i'm fairly new to Christianity. I'd advise you to learn more about the opposing side to supposed contradictions, and ignore SAB.

I read their supposed contradictions and just laugh. Considering its from atheists, who supposedly are so intellectual and observant, they really don't take any time to study the scripture in depth. They just see 2 remarks that seem to oppose each other and say, yup its a contradiction, as oppose to seeing the meaning in context and trying to understand it. The Bible wasn't designed to be read through once and wallah, we understand it all. It was meant to require thought, depth, insight, interpretation, study etc. for our whole lives.

That's ridiculous, Magus.

And if you think you can do that, I urge you to go to our Biblical Crit forum, and refute away. But you'd better pack a lunch. Hey, you'd better pack all you can carry.

Mark9950, let me add my welcome- and my congratulations for realizing that this particular emperor wears not a stitch, despite the many who ooh and aah at his beautiful clothes. You've come to the right place.

Evolutionists don't claim man evolved from monkies, only that they have a common ancestor. And the Bible makes perfect sense to someone who studies it and doesn't have the pressuposition its all wrong ( or go by a site as rediculous and errant as SAB).

How is it rediculous? Just glancing through the contradictions, i could explain dozens off the top of my head without even looking at the Bible.

Anytime you're ready...

If it's related to existence, you can start here. But generally speaking, bible criticisms (or arguments against) should be made here.

I was correcting your spelling, Magus.

And I was also telling you that this is not the right forum for discussing Biblical literalism. If you want to start a topic there, and then come back here and put a link, fine.

It's odd that people without presupposition that the bible is wrong would find the bible to make perfect sense, considering how many athiests are X-Xians.

Do I hear Scotsmen on the horizon?
