SOMMS has been trying to respond to all of your posts INDIVIDUALLY under very trying circumstances. All the insulting comments are just really a bad testimony to the general character level on this board. I mean, for all you know, the guy could have DIED, and you are all sitting around in your little mutual admiration society
picking the guy apart.

Actually, he has been trying very hard to avoid our questions while at the same time blowing clouds of smoke our way. Go back and read the entire thread.
If he died then his troubles are over and what we say won't affect him a bit. But this is a textbook example of how so many debates with the religious end up.
Our "little mutual admiration society" is a wonderful mischaracterization of an ATHEIST BOARD where the religious come to pose those oh-so-tough questions to us deluded non-believers while at the same time refusing to answer direct questions or present a shread of evidence for all their claims.
...and then call us names because they have nothing left except their self-serving stubborn ignorance (pride?).

Come off it, luvluv. I presume you are referring to this:

"Perhaps SOMMS is studying the centuries of theology available in some large metropolitan library, diligently seeking answers both honest and reasonable to address all my objections. So, I won't be so petty as to proclaim his argument proven nonsensical, and SOMMS lacking the honor and honesty to admit he's whupped. (Besides, such a thing would be unseeming for a moderator, wouldn't it? )"

Yes, that's a poke at SOMMS; but if he had given me the slightest reason to think he actually *was* attempting to formulate a better defense of his thesis, and were it not for his known propensity to bail out when he's backed into a corner, and if I had ever even once seen him graciously concede a point, I would not have done so. You will note that my only statement of intent as a moderator is that I will forcibly point out this thread if he tries this same argument six months from now; something he has done repeatedly in the past.

If SOMMS were to return to this thread, and make an honest effort to answer the objections I listed near the top of this page, and objected to my dig- I would sincerely apologize.

I take part in this forum as both a regular member, and as a moderator. Any actions I take as a mod will always be clearly labelled. If I make a statement or perform an action in my official capacity which you think is unfair, I request that you call me on it. I make no pretensions to perfection, you know. But I will sometimes make comments as an individual member without worrying how statesmanly or saintly they are. If I could not do this, I would resign instanter!
