Lambda Legal Defense has produced a toolkit for fighting "Abstinence Only" sex ed in schools. I haven't reviewed it yet, but it looks like it might be of interest here.

Nice try, but it does not go far enough. It does not mention discussion of alternative sex acts, which is surprising for a gay-rights organization. Especially when one considers that nonpenetrative acts and masturbation can easily be super safe.

My schools sex ed is an "Abstinence only" one, too

Does "abstinence only" really mean that there is no discussion of birth control or disease prevention? Is it simply "Here's the uterus, here's the epididymus, etc." and a reminder not to do anything with them?

At what point would birth control or disease prevention come up? When & where would teens learn about these things?

It does not mention discussion of alternative sex acts, which is surprising for a gay-rights organization.

What's even more suprising is that catholic organizations don't mention them, despite the catholics being renown for using 'alternative sex acts' as birth control.

Abstinance only education isn't even required to teach medically accurate things. The Rebulicans tabled that amendment.

They do discuss (and exaggerate) the failure rate for condoms.

I think "abstinence only" sex ed is as useful as "abstinence only" driver's ed. Like, saying that the only way to completely eliminate risk of ending up in an accident is not to take part in traffic. Well, that is technically correct but it does not help you any.

Like having sex during certain times of a woman's "Feminine Cycle" in which you may only fuck her while she's bleeding, or right after, or something like that. Just when they're not in their fertile "Feminine Cycle" time, or else Baby Jesus starts crying.
