Technically, this poll should be labeled "Your favorite geological era" - although the tertiary is a period, and the era should be cenozoic.

My personal fav is the Carboniferous - when insects ruled the earth!

(although they've never stopped... )

I meant "period" in the generic sense of "stretch of time".

...that could swallow an IDiot whole!! I admit it, I voted for the dinos!

As a non-biologist, it's always been a fascinating topic. I used to draw dinosaurs (usually fighting/eating each other) as a kid. Triceratops was always my favorite.

I like the Tertiary best. I can't really put my finger on what the reason is.
