I got curious about the expression '3 days' concerning jesus's time dead. Friday afternoon to Sunday morning is less than 48 hours. I did a web search and found this site <a href="http://www.biblestudy.org/basicart/threeday.html" target="_blank">Was Jesus in the grave for 3 days & 3 nights?</a>

Has anyone else ever heard of this? Why do xtians celebrate Good Friday?

As usual, the days are arranged for convenience and coincidence with existing holidays. From <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/06643a.htm" target="_blank">The Catholic Encyclopedia</a>:

"From the earliest times the Christians kept every Friday as a feast day; and the obvious reasons for those usages [Friday being the sabbath's eve, when friends and family gather] explain why Easter is the Sunday par excellence, and why the Friday which marks the anniversary of Christ's death came to be called the Great or the Holy or the Good Friday."

Since when has Thursday ever been the sabbath? If I recall correctly, his followers made sure to get his body off the cross before the eve of the sabbath so they could prepare his body for burial, which is prohibited on the sabbath.
