We may be Christians, but we're capitalists first, damnit!

Quote:
(describing some of the T-shirts for sale) ...."Instead of Tommy Hilfiger, a shirt read: 'Ask Jesus, HILFIGER it out for you.' Instead of Got Milk? the shirt read 'Got Love?' 'I Mosh for Jesus', and the ever alarming 'Friends Don't Let Friends Go to Hell' were both popular.
"I still grope the crowd-surfing girls, but at least I know they're Christian girls! And after I beat the crap out of some other guy in the mosh pit, we hug and say we're sorry." <barf>

In one corner of the 'merch' tent were a dozen boys furiously engaged in a Magic-like card game called Redemption. Matt Warren, 11, of Knoxville, TN was the tournament's judge. 'It's like those other card games, except that in Redemption it's heroes from the Bible versus villains from the Bible, and the object is to save souls,' he said."
So, as long as we get rid of the word 'magic' it's OK. <Gag> indeed!

Hahaha...I always thought your name was intended to imply you were a fan of the anime Evangelion Genesis. Guess I was wrong.
I had heard a great deal about the series, but only watched it for the first time last week. It nearly lived up to my expectations, being absolutely superb all the way through.... until I reached the bizarre (and totally meaningless) conclusion.

LOL! Thats rich!

I sure get a kick out of Christians who try to distance themselves from those other Christian groups they think have crazy beliefs.
"I believe that Jesus is god and that he resurrected from the dead and all that, but I'm not wacky like those other Christians".

Wacky is as wacky does.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Hate to break this to you Fenton but----

I am a Christian---I believe that Christ existed and died on the cross and was resurrected.

And I have very little in common with nut case fundies.

It is a big world-with a lot of opinions -even among atheists--who cannot themselves even agree about much of anything.

Agnostic, strong atheist, weak atheist-------come on now--sounds like Baptists arguing with Episcopalians and both arguing with Lutherans. And Catholics arguing with everyone. ============and of course the one thing they do have in common is the same thing that Christians have in common----==it is us against them.

"I'm an atheist - oh, but I'm not a humanist."

"I'm an atheist - oh, but I'm not an Objectivist."

I'm an atheist - oh, but I'm not an anarchist."

Yes indeed, "wacky is as wacky does."

Thankyou for the chuckle.

What does atheism have to do with anarchism? I don't see how this was a direct reply at all.

If diversity in any ideology is a problem to anyone I say again...vive la difference. Do we truly wish for a world where all think the same without any nuances to reflect personal individuality ? I certainly do not.....I appreciate nuances and differences for they enhance the need mankind has to seek truth.
So.... good thing that there are different levels in atheism as well as in theism.
