Mayhap if hell existed it would be hot.

but it doesn't, so it isn't.

the most i can say on this topic is, how can we experience something, when we don't have the right media with which to experience it? as Zimyatin stated, you don't have your body. because the body is dead. also, you are limited to the physical extremes you felt during life, because it is eternity, that mean that time no longer exists, therefore you cannot have any original feelings; such as intense heat.

The problem has mainly to do with the fact that she will take no one on in a rational, logical or reasonable debate. She continues to postulate nonsense like that which is seen above to somehow futher her position, when all it does is destroy her credibility and lend to the idea that she is nothing more than a fool who knows nothing of reason, nothing of her religion and nothing of ethics or morality. Of course, my posts have been summarily ignored by Gemma, the main reason being, I think, that I question her motives.

So Gemma, besides attempting to create strife, do you have any motive here at II?

What an insightful and condescending answer. I've been wondering about your age, Gemma. Based on the quality of thought in your posts, I'm guessing that you are about 14. Am I close? For what it's worth, I'm a mere 39 years of age. I have no animosity towards Christianity, but I also do not suffer fools gladly.

He is a jealous god, Gerry, that's why he never lets me leave the house by myself, or wear anything sexy. I mean, Gerry, i'm my own person dammit, and he's always burning me even if i talk to another god. You don't own me yahweh! from now on, i'm doing what i want to do!

Our souls are separate from our body, right? So if we get impailed with a fishing rod and die our soul leaves our earthly body and ascends to heaven, Valhalla (my fav), or descends to hell (hot flames and flatulence). Only our earthly flesh and blood can feel pain (damn those nerves!).

Now, in order to feel pain you need a human body. But it's the soul that is sentenced to eternal damnation. If Satan jabbed you with a hot poker would you care? Hah, hah, Satan, that tickles. </strong>
Uh, but in Hinduism that loophole had been plugged early. When you die you discard only your gross material body. Your soul after death slips into a subtle material body which cannot be seen by the living. But it is a material body and so that is the one which gets tortured in hell, or enjoys the pleasures of lower heavens.
