Our poor little boy who would be king
Now pouts in a corner and can't say a thing
A transparent fraud and an unruly child
When confronted with facts turns remarkably mild.

... of course, that's not a literal translation of the Tel Dan inscription, but I really don't read the language very well.

Go, go, go! Man, you guys are getting better all the time!

Speaking metaphorically, of course, feel free to change my diapers at any time if you really feel that they are dirty. Translation for the lame of head: Prove me wrong if you can buddy-boy.

I'm answering some of these mainly so I can just answer the last one.

- On and off for 6 years, that is for the Old Testament.

- Personal

- Does english count?

- I took Hebrews Scripts at Manhattan College under Br. Robert Berger. Also took an introductory course in a somewhat A la Carte world religion under him as well

- Bubbles is hardcore!

I didn't bring it up. Rad-jumpoffacliffwhateverhisnameis started it with the post that he deleted. Na na na na boo boo.

You people don't read very closely, do you? Sift back through my posts and you'll find that I say something about having a hard time accepting the conclusions of someone about my age with respect to Carrier. If you know Carrier's age, then you'll know my approximate age. I'll let you guess how many years of study that has allowed me.

<strong>Personal or professional?</strong>
Nope, nope, nope... Then you could figure out who I am.

<strong>How many biblical lanaguages do you know?</strong>
Plenty more than anyone else here. Let's see... Egyptian (hieroglyphics that is), Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, Syriac, and Coptic. Of course, of non-biblical languages, I am almost forced to know German, French, and Spanish. English is probably obvious.

All of them.

You aren't getting that close to me.

Yes.

Hmm... That's a toughy.... Umm...

Bubbles!!! At least, my daughter likes her best.

Of course, I relate more to the professor.

Not this stupid, freaking article again! You did realize that Zamboni, there, is close to being in the same camp with Thompson? You're using someone in that camp to support the conclusions of another person in that camp? Phooey! You can do better than that! I've already presented an article from the much respected NEA and I can quote from Dever, BAR, and others if you like.

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0824508874/internetinfidelsA" target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0824508874/internetinfidelsA</a>

<strong>"Until Thomas L. Thompson's "The Mythic Past," this was the best (and still the briefest) read on the essential history behind the stories that inspire us. While the author questions orthodox (fundamentalist) interpretations (where do YOU draw the line between mythic truth and historical accuracy -- Adam & Eve? the Patriarchs? Moses? David & Solomon? Josiah?... you get the picture) it in no way interferes with a devout appreciation of the scriptures, or with a contemporary concern for the political integrity of the Holy Land, etc. Worth tracking down if you're interested in the subject."</strong>
Until Thompson came along?? If his book was outdone by Thompson, then we're all in really big trouble!!

<strong>"Among the central core of contributors to such new perspectives on the history of this region, are not only archaeologists such as Ussishkin, Herzog and Finkelstein from Tel Aviv, but also Giovanni Garbini, Mario Liverani and Carlo Zaccagnini from the University of Rome."</strong>
See... All these names together... You're gonna have to show me someone outside the "inner group" who believes them.

I'm afraid you have failed sorely. Read Dever.

In fact, read these as well which are even better and more data filled:

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385425902/qid=1027480188/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/103-8770935-9083862" target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385425902/internetinfidelsA</a>

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385424507/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2/103-8770935-9083862" target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385424507/internetinfidelsA</a>

Then you'll have a better knowledge base with which to duel. Is that arrogant enough for you?

KA, if you are a published scholar with such extensive language and historical skills, why would you engage in such juvenile banter and weak arguments? Why wouldn't you identify yourself and ask for criticism of your work? Isn't that what real scholars do?
