Socrates is a very interesting fellow. I would think from his name that he would be more interested in asking questions than making bold assertions.

He was provoked. The previous poster had said something to the effect that Christians are liars. That may well be true of Kreationist Klutzes, but to say something like that on a Christian board is bad tactics and invites idiots to respond with remarks like the one above, generating a round of peer support and closing of ranks as well as minds. If it hadn't been the predictably intemperate Socrates, it would have been some other yammerhead. In my opinion, there is no point in posting over there if you are not going to stake out the moral high ground and patiently and politely defend it.

There is no biologically hardwired morality, and yet, nearly every society has about the same set of rules that its members are expected to (mostly) follow.

There are two clues:

How do you keep a condemed murder/prisoner from misbehaving?

And, What is a meme?

The Code of Hammurabi from about 4,000 years ago has nearly all the 10 Commandments (Saturday/Sunday= Holy day off, is left out *1). Plus the Code is the original source of the famous "An Eye for an Eye" line. It is the oldest written law on earth.

*1) Why don't the fundies object to the days of the week names? Saturn Day, Sun Day, Moon Day, Fria's Day, Thor's Day, Woden's Day, and Tiu's Day.

Though I must say I am having a decent conversation over there with Captian Orche. Wienerdog is good too.

I went madly out of my way with Socretes to be nice, but once its indicated that you disagree with his religion you are a misotheist. I had never heard that term before meeting him. I still haven't looked it up, I'm sure it isn't nice.

The problem I have with Theology Web is that, as I stated in a thread I made there, no matter what you talk about in science, they always drag evolution into the fold. Even when I created a thread on the age of the planet, exclusively, I think it took 5 posts for a creationist to mention evolution.

Then they insist that the word evolution means evolution and only evolution. As in cosmology, they use the word evolution, so they say Biological Evolution is connected to Cosmology.
