Atheism: the absence of belief in a god or gods.

Justification: gods are fictional creatures from ancient mythological stories irrationally believed by some to factually exist even though fictional creatures, by definition, do not factually exist and no compelling evidence or valid logical arguments exist to support such irrational belief, as has been conclusively and irrefutably demonstrated countless times by millions of people throughout human history.

Why argue: because such irrational belief has resulted in untold suffering throughout human history as a direct result of the dogma based on that irrational belief and continues to prove detrimental to the continued well-being of humanity, of which we are, obviously, a part.

Love is what makes us do it. Love and self-serving motivation.

Now, fuck off.

Don't get angry, we're only taking about a psychological thing that doesn't exist. I realize war's have been created over these types of issues. Anyway, your personal definition is more like agnosticism. Ok, well, let's assume you're right. Your subsequent comments only reinforce your passion to continue believing what you believe. Otherwise, if you had no passion to believe, you would not want to continue arguing your case.

agnosticism= suspended belief
atheist=belief that God doesn't exist.
theism= belief God exists.
