That's right. The federal Ninth Circuit covers Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and Montana. In courts located outside that area the decision qualifies as "persuasive authority" only.

I wonder if a diaper-head Muslim gay couple will be allowed to say the pledge at their Nick-at-Night televised wedding ceremony that is held in a public school classroom?

Bet so.
Nice.

Did anyone else catch all the fundie calls to FOX a little while ago?
ALL the callers are upset about this and one guy went as far as saying the courts ruling made his wife cry.

She fucking CRIED over this! <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />

I think I've figured out why fundies always think pro-separation decisions are somehow unconstitutional:
Quote:
I think I'm about to lose it! If we don’t take back the courts in this country and make them accountable to the citizens again, all hope is lost. There has been a death spiral that began in earnest in the ‘60’s that has virtually eliminated morality. The mores of this country that uphold the differences between good and evil have disappeared. Is there no end to the depths that the loony liberals can take us?
The fools think the courts are accountable to the citizens? Maybe we can just pass out copies of the Constitution to start the learning process.

HALLE-FUCKING-LUJAH!!!!!!!!!! *shouts* *dances*

I've been SOOOOO worried about how to handle that stupid phrase when I start teaching. I've been really stressing over it. Maybe it'll spread to all of the states before I get into the classroom! *crosses fingers*

I keep thinking about Mr. Newdow and all of the hateful bullshit he's going to have to put up with. I'm sure his phone is ringing off the hook and, reporters aside, most of the calls are from people who wish him the worst. Does anyone know what community he lives in? I don't want to add to the guy's headaches by tracking down a phone number or anything, but I am considering writing a letter of support to his hometown paper.
