i imagine the genetics would only be useful in reproducing a clone of mary's lineage. i figure God's contribution was spiritual more than anything else.

What an odd idea for a film. I am sure that it will be subject to much rhetoric from those of the Christian persuation.

if nothing else we'd at least know he existed & what he really looked like. i certainly don't believe he was the son of god, since there is no god. but i haven't ruled out the possibility that there was a jesus who claimed he was the son of god. and if we knew what he really looked like that would certainly fly in the face of what many fundies believe about him...namely that he was white.

But he was white! The pictures in my bible prove it!

such a movie could head in many different directions don't ya think. how interesting would that be? would it prove or disprove everything written in the bible? this idea is pretty thought provoking, so i'm throwing it out there to see what you guys have to say about it.
Um, just by finding Christ's remains would disprove the Bible. If Jesus didn't ascend into heaven, with His body - He isn't God. But good luck, since you will never find His remains.

IMO this is the zenith of Christian apologetics.
Take a mythical figure and claim that because his body can't be found he must be in Heaven and therefore Christianity is true.

Magus is 100% right about this. Nobody wil ever find his body and Christians will continue to make this claim of divinity until the end of time.

Jesus of Nazareth isn't any more of a myth than Caesar is, but you can believe so all you want - some 4 or 5 billion people would disagree with you.

It was recently explained to you why this argument fails, but apparently you have chosen to ignore it and continue trudging along.

Anyhoo......

How many of these 4 or 5 billion people still believe the flood happened or that Moses received stone tablets up on the mountain? Many of these 4 or 5 billion people don't even still believe Jesus performed the miracles attributed to him the gospels.

It's just a matter of time.
