Perhaps it is a reaction to the way religion is pushed on to everyone all the time.
If Christians were able to keep their faith to themselves without forcing it on others constantly, I would have absolutely no problem with them at all.

Because you may be able to give a good answer and thereby save my soul from the burning torments of hell your god has prepared for me?
If i actually thought you were sincere and gave a crap, as well as if your posts didn't always drip with sarcasm, i might be more inclined to give a shot.

Could you provide some biblical justification for this?
We become like Jesus:
1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Jesus entering buildings through closed doors:

Jhn 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.

Jhn 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you.

We are as the angels:

Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Reign as priests of God in heaven:

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

No death, pain, sorrow etc. and God makes all things new.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Jesus showing that he has a physical body after the ressurection:

Jhn 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

By your logic, lets get rid of all non-Christians since they have caused more death and destruction than Christians.

I didn't suggest that we should "get rid of" anyone. Perhaps "getting rid of" people is how you would handle the situation, but you don't speak for me.

And please note that I said "religious thinking/teaching" and did not single out your particular flavor of time tested stupidity.

Curiously enough, you went ahead and provided an answer (of sorts) anyway.

We become like Jesus:

Does that mean you'll get all his powers, including the godlike ones? In other words, will heaven be filled with gods?

Jesus entering buildings through closed doors:

Are you sure he didn't enter through a window, or perhaps the roof? I see nothing in the text quoted to say specifically that he passed through the closed door like Kitty Pryde.

We are as the angels:

Does that include the fallen ones?

Reign as priests of God in heaven:

If you are the priests, who is the congregration? Are there altar boys too?

No death, pain, sorrow etc. and God makes all things new.

How does he "make all things new"? Does that mean, for example, that even if you were a firefighter in your previous life, each time you extinguish a fire in heaven, it will feel as though you were doing it for the very first time? That suggests some tampering with one's memory.

Jesus showing that he has a physical body after the ressurection:

So did Jesus have to eat, excrete, etc. to keep the new physical body going or was it the kind of physical body which didn't need such maintenance?

Plus, you forgot to answer my question :

Quote:
Do you mean that the soul is physically exactly like the body, or do you mean that the soul is kind of body-shaped but without the fine details like internal organs?

I'm sorry, earl. If Magus wishes to continue this discussion, I'll start another thread. What do you say, Magus? WWJD?

Yes Earl, this is a hijacked thread. While reading the thread, I was thinking "I need to post a 'Keep it on topic' warning." I'm glad I waited til I got to the end!

It would be a very good idea if you started a new thread to ask your questions of Magus, Queen.

For some reason, I hate starting threads with someone's name in the topic; it seems personal and call-them-out. On the other hand, hijacking this thread is not a good option either. So, no more commentary from me here; if Magus wishes to continue the debate, we'll go to another thread.

I have no agenda. But I would like to know the truth, but I doubt if I ever will, at least not to my 100% satisfaction.
