Not a very good analogy. Are you suggesting they start with the same bias toward proving the results? The same ethics? Would they suffer the same punishment and penalties for being caught out doing so? Clearly not. Even the other drug companies would jump on faked results and data to rip them to bits and have a feeding frenzy on their customer base.

yup, but that can take a LONG TIME

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/fe...ssed_4-26.html

"The report concluded that young patients, aged 5-18, should not take four popular antidepressants -- Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor and Celexa -- because there was a clear risk of suicidal behavior among those taking the drugs and no benefit"

"The drug companies contend that their products are safe and deny they are risking the lives of younger patients in order to sell more prescriptions.

"The use in children of our drug in particular, is a very, very, very small percentage of the overall total prescriptions of this product," Mariann Caprino, spokeswoman for Pfizer Inc., which makes Zoloft, told The Washington Post. "To suggest that we are motivated by profiting off of children is ludicrous.""

Drug companys tend not to do that.. as they are ALL crooked as fuck, and if one starts it, it will become war pretty quickly.

I looked for that, and i haven't been able to find ONE instance of a drug company disproving a safety study of another. Lots of independant reviews have sliced them up, but not other companies.

Just an observation.

it's probably not such a great analogy for bible studies.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but should they really be taking that many antidepressants in the first place? I believe it says something along those lines on the bottle. And it hardly seems fair to abuse statistics by using those of an age group that is four times as depressed as any other.

Consider the following from a Christian debate forum:
