Default About Morton Smith

Already published it into an italian Facebook's page.

I don't know why I am throwing this out there. Maybe someone wants to follow this stuff up and report back here. Here is what came out of calls this week:

•a claim that Morton Smith was married which an eyewitness claims to have heard from W D Davies of the Union Theological Seminary. I have also been told that Morton Smith once laughed off this rumor when it was brought to his attention.
•the earliest gossip I have found which identifies Morton Smith as a homosexual comes from 1973 and was related to the publication of Jesus the Magician. 'Mortie's book reflects what went on in his mind' said by David Noel Freedman
•Morton Smith was respected by all but liked by few. He lived in a tidy and very neat apartment in New York by himself. All his acquaintances were fellow academics.
•I am certain I have found Morton Smith's female love interest and quite possibly a clandestine lover. Still working on developing that but it is a very tricky business.

There's more but I have to go take care of family business right now
.
I guess that not many people know of the sensational discovery made by prof. Morton Smith at the monastery of Mar Saba, about ten miles south-east of Jerusalem. Suffice it to say, to underline the importance of the thing, that the clerical 'machine of mud' 'fiercely' you lashed out the honest searcher of the historical truth, 'selling off' him as a homosexual, in order to make him not credible in the eyes of the uninformed public opinion, about its discovery and the books published by Smith himself, with particular reference to 'Jesus the Magician', of the 1987 year.

Because he arrived very close to the historical truth (Jesus was really a 'magician', coming from the same school of Simon Magus: namely that of the magician-gnostic master John the Baptist), Morton Smith was regarded with extreme 'ferocity' by 'holy' inhabitants of the 'dome', whom gave orders to all their cybernetic 'pasdarans' to attack Morton Smith, in every way and everywhere!

For those wishing to have a 'taste ' about the sleazy catho-idolatric gossip, as a denigration of the awkward figure of Morton Smith, I suggest to visit the forum: http://www.renneslechateau.it/public...opic.php?t=771

Obviously, the invitation is mainly extended to all those who speak Italian also ..

Greetings

Littlejohn

I happen to make at least one call a day to people who are still living and talk about Morton Smith and some of the characters associated with the Mar Saba controversy. I have yet to find anyone who told me that they were propositioned by Smith or saw him with a man. I have read all sort of apocryphal stories of 'love letters' to male and female students for grades etc. The people who spread these stories are few and generally described as 'good Christians.' I have never heard a single person ever claim to receive one of these love letters nor has anyone produced said document.

I have discovered a daughter who said Morton Smith and her mother were having an affair. But I don't want to say any more until I can corroborate this claim with an eyewitness.

Hello Stephan!..How are you?..

I totally agree with you.

The thing that is more indignant me, however, is the clerical presumption that a scholar, only because he is a homosexual or perceived as such, must be less credible than another that it is not! .. This is simply absurd, and only a mind who live constantly in the absurd, like that of a fanatic catholic fundamentalist, can think about this! ...

With regard to the contents of the letter of Clement of Alexandria, I have no doubt about the disturbing truth foreshadowed by the content of the letter (ie the 'active' homosexuality of Jesus), since all of that finds a logical response not only in the 'omission on the part of the Synoptics (three out of four gospels!) of the episode concerning Lazarus, an unmistakable sign that something of particularly 'thorny' in this incident we had to be, and that it was better to be silent, but also by the fact that the homosexual-pedophile relationship between Jesus and 'Lazarus' (a pseudonym) it finds a precise echo in the pages of a second-century pagan writer! ...

Best greetings,

Littlejohn

The truth is that it is unlikely that a bachelor's sexuality could have 'caused him' to forge a document. I don't even see how, even if he was homosexual (something I haven't found any evidence to support after a month of research yet) how this could have any relationship with the content or the production of the Mar Saba document. Smith's interest was to promote the idea of 'Jesus the magician' and magic in early Christianity. You can see how many times he tries to project and force this interpretation over the discovery in 1973 book. Homosexuality is really never referenced in this authoritative study of the text and there is no homosexuality in the letter itself. I don't get why this is brought in to any discussion of whether or not the text is a forgery. But as a prominent Harvard professor I spoke to noted - they make Smith the subject of their investigation because they can't disprove the text. Its authenticity is essentially unassailable.
