Anyways, here is another relatively new item that might be of interest:

Defendant Golan Has a Picture of the Ossuary from the 1970s
Does it show the ossuary stored on top of a toilet?

This alleged photograph has been in the news before. According to the blogger at Ralph the sacred river

I am skeptical, however, that Golan really has such a photograph; and the photograph itself must be shown to be authentic and to date from the time that Golan claims (and even then the inscription could be fake). The indictment includes a charge that Golan has attempted to suborn witnesses, falsify affidavits, etc. — and Joe Zias mentioned on the ANE list that Golan has now been jailed until the trial to keep him from further attempts to suborn perjury. If all this is true, then Golan is not above faking a photograph.
How would a photograph be authenticated as over 30 years old?

The chemicals used to process it. The paper it is printed on. The colors in the photo. Apparently companies like Kodak can even compare them to the type of camera and the exact idiocyncracies of that camera, lense etc.

I understand they do a lot of that type of work on supporsed ufo and ghost pictures. However when it comes to photography I'm not even an amature as I never took a complete roll of good pictures in my life. But I have read explanations of how they determine faked pictures of ufos, ghosts and projections by psychics.

prints are washed in a water bath for 30 minutes after developing (at least they USED to be way back when I was young).

but maybe they can date Olans photo based on some sort of a patina analysis?
