I made clear in my OP that there is good evidence for the revolt. The question is specifically about Boadicea.

If one were to argue that Boadicea was a symbolic figure invented by native British propaganda to represent what they were fighting about, I'm not sure what direct evidence there would be against this.

At this point, Jake, I am starting to suspect a bit of a trap, a desire to have me say something like, "Jesus was the only guy to say, 'XYZ'", so that you can pounce and say, "Well, Epictetus said basically the same thing." I think it would be best, therefore, if I refer you to the part in Brunner's book where he discusses genius and says that the genius takes the ideas from the culture in which he is found and transforms them, breathing new life into them. In sum, Jake, I hope you will pick up the book and give it a read.
