God is a big fat moron who is too incompetent to make a decent world.

See? I have not been struck down by lightning at all.

God: Hello, Satan? Yeah, it's the boss. Yeah, not too bad, mate. You? Good. Anyway, there's another one coming down. About 80 years (I AM giving you long life! ). What? Nah, trying to test me. Yeh, one of those. Who is it? One of those know-all atheists. Do what, pal? Forgive him?! Hey, do I look merciful? You didn't stand a chance, humanity didn't stand a chance! You think an atheist is gonna get to see my merciful side?!

Perhaps attempts at deceit are not very convincing.

You could perhaps have pointed out that this nice, funny analysis doesn't stem from your great intellect, but can be found all over the internet.

Hi All,

Well it seems that my argument has been well and truly debunked by all you scholarly atheists. Not to worry -- I still believe what I believe, and I will continue to do so. I'd like to lay a couple of ghosts to rest before I leave you all to it:

I am not an evidentialist, therefore I don't require evidence for my beliefs. I doubt that you will accept this, but like any other Christian I believe what I believe because I am convicted of it. It's as simple as that.

It has got nothing to do with evidence; reason dictates that santa cannot exist. Failing that, I think that every capable person in the world, bar perhaps .00000001% (the obstinate ones--you lot ), will testify ardently that they themselves buy presents for their loved ones. Such a testimony would not be good for poor Santa.

In addition, Agnostic Beast's joke (which I have encountered before ) is a parody of another joke -- Santa himself.

Well, Mr. Amaleq13 BA(Psych), MA(Hist), Ph.D, I didn't realise that you were so well-read in this capacity. If I had known that I was up against someone with that many letters after his name, I'd have quit long ago. In all seriousness, I cannot compete with someone of your class. I guess it was worth a try. However, I gravely doubt that you have read everything written by these historical figures. Perhaps I am not the only one who is parroting the well-worn arguments of his predecessors.

In response to people who say, "Why do you believe it if it cannot be proven?" I say this: I was looking for evidence only because you required it, not because I require it myself.

Cheers,

Procurator

But reason dictates that God cannot exist, and yet you still believe in Him. I realise you have faith in God and not in Santa, of course, and that would seem the real reason you argue that Santa can't exist.

Um, Jesus didn't write the "Letter" to the Hebrews. Nor did Paul. No one knows who did.

The idea that gov't is established by "God" (Zeus, Jupiter, the Father, whomever) was a common Hellenistic idea of the time. Not Jesus' idea.

But you indicate nowhere that it's not from you. I don't think there's a copyright on this story, but normally one marks quotations in some way.

Then why don't believe miracles of Mohammed, of Hinduism, of Vespasian etc.? They have as much (or little) evidence as Jesus' (alleged) miracles and are believed by the people of other religions because of the same reason you seem to believe: blind faith. So how do you decide that you are right and they are wrong?

Well, reason dictates that a god who is one and three persons at the same time also can not exist. Reason dictates that peope don't come back from death. There you have it.

They are all deceived by anti-Santa. Disprove this.
I wonder how long will it take for you to get that one can argue anything as long one allows supernatural beings in the argument.

Oh, then my statement in the beginning is still right: Your posts are desperately in need of evidence. :Cheeky:

Santa is a "macroscopic quantum object".

Proof that Santa exists

This makes the traditional disproofs of Santa (based on the speed of his sleigh and so forth) irrelevant: Santa can be in many places at once. It also solves the "blocked fireplace" problem too (quantum tunnelling/teleportation).

This is powerful evidence for the reality of Santa: we find that real-world particles actually have the properties that Santa requires! A good scientific theory is one that makes successful predictions.

Has science discovered that the world operates on principles derivable from the God-theory? No, therefore the Santa-theory is superior.
