That's what it is - jealousy. I am awed by the ability of Acharya to rise above what Philo of Alexandria actually says about the therapeutae and rise to the heights of intellectual all knowing. Who needs the text? Who needs to acknowledge that Philo is our only source and he is Jewish and nowhere mentions any interest in Buddhism or pagan religion of any kind. I am jealous because I can't match her inspiration. All that matters is inspiration and spiritual knowledge from the Great One in the sky.

Who does the great Acharya credit for her great insight into the joining together of all the great religions? Was she taught by a bird? What sort of miracles has she wrought since the power of the divinity blessed her with heavenly knowledge hidden from wise men of past ages? When she was an infant did she strangle snakes like Hercules or maybe she shouted sublime proclamations like Jesus in the Quran?

Too bad your personal horizons are so limited, uninspired, and uninspiring. Its no wonder you are so jealous.

Think you can really reach much higher by jumping up and down on her?

Yeah maybe this happened too. Maybe when Jesus was taken from his mother's womb the following narrative actually took place:

"O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot. Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle? He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and has made me a prophet. And has made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and has enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive, And (has made me) dutiful toward her who bore me, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest. Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive! Such was Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt. [Sura 19:28-34]

This is so stupid. Philo was a Jew, the Essenes were Jewish and the Therapeutae were a sect of the Essenes. How do we get from here to Buddhism? Please. And don't cite that author. Put it in your own words. There is one source for the Jewish Therapeutae. Just one. How do we get from this reference to Buddhism. I am dying to find out why you're so smart and I am so stupid. Because I can't see it.

Your statement is wholly in error. In 'VC' there is no claim at all that the Therapeutae were a sect of Essenes.

It is most remarkable how people here are actively engaged in propaganda.

It is as if they think that 'VC' is not available.

Again, the Words Jew or Jewish is not in 'VC'.

The word Israel is found ONCE and it is in connection with the crossing of Red Sea in the time of Moses.

Really? The text does not connect the one group to the other? Wow. Your reading skills must be better than mine and everyone else's aa. Bravo.

'Bout as likely as this whopper;

"And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. "

And this argument that Philo has to mention the word Jew and Jewish. When the Germans asked my grandfather if he was Jewish in 1940 in the Velodrome in Paris, any guess what his answer was? The situation in Alexandria was much the same.
