IIRC, Robinson's explanation is that Onesiphorus, upon hearing of his arrest, started looking for Paul in Rome but found him in Caesarea. As I said, "rather forced."

...and 19th century scholar Volkmar claimed that Mark's Jesus was a model of Paul. I have often wondered whether the Gerasene Demoniac was a reference to Paul, who was converted near that spot on the road to Damascus, in legend, and was also in chains....
